We combine seasonal misting with targeted treatments that stop mosquitoes at the source so that you can safely enjoy your yard without the bites.
Effective mosquito control means going after them at every stage of their life cycle. We use a combination of botanical misting to knock down the biting adults and specialized mosquito pods to stop them from multiplying.
Mosquitoes emerge when temperatures hit 70°F. In dense urban environments like New York City, they don’t need a swamp to thrive; a clogged rain gutter, a backed-up storm drain, or even an empty planter holds enough stagnant water to breed hundreds of mosquitoes.
Species like the common house mosquito (Culex pipiens) and the Asian tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus) are aggressive biters that carry West Nile virus and Zika. They are most active right at dawn and dusk.
Just spraying the adult mosquitoes only gives you temporary relief. True control requires stopping their life cycle entirely. We treat their resting sites in the foliage to eliminate the adults, and install specialized traps in standing water to keep them from multiplying.
Every property is different. We start by assessing your space to find exactly where water is pooling and where the adults are hiding in the dense foliage. Once we understand the layout, we apply a botanical misting treatment to immediately drop the biting population, followed by recommendations on environmental changes, like clearing specific gutters or adjusting drainage, to keep them from coming back.
During the day, adult mosquitoes avoid the sun by resting on the undersides of leaves. Our technicians use backpack mist sprayers to apply eco-friendly, botanical insecticides directly into that foliage. It immediately clears out the resting adults. Because the formulation is botanical, it leaves behind a residual barrier that repels incoming mosquitoes without posing a risk to your pets or non-target insects like bees.
This is how we stop the next generation. Mosquito pods are specialized traps loaded with a natural fungus and a larvicide. Egg-laying females land in the trap, pick up those active ingredients, and fly off. When they visit their own hidden breeding sites, they contaminate the water. The fungus eliminates the adult female, and the larvicide kills the newly-hatched larvae.
A mosquito’s entire life cycle takes just one week. Over time, rain and UV light will naturally break down any exterior treatment. To keep your yard protected, we schedule recurring visits from April through October. We refill the pod traps, re-apply the botanical misting, and maintain an active line of defense around your property all season long.
